The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof." - Richard Bach

i'm all over the map today. hope you don't get too dizzy.

My friend and I were discussing kids today and what her new baby's personality will be like. We were stating that you can't "teach cool." Zeph is cool. He is ornery and I foretell he will give me lots of grief, but at 5 he is already cool. That makes me laugh.

I am going to paint my dining room wall red this weekend. This warms me like a strong drink.

There is a huge used book sale that the County Library holds at an empty mall. It lasts three days. I go everyday and INHALE the books. Its like crack. I love it. The only thing I would love more is if the mall was empty of all people like in Night of the Comet and I was there to just sniff, touch and peruse all the books at my own pace without feeling creeped out by the person peering over my shoulder.

Is it true that you can overuse lip balm to where your lips don't produce their own moisture? I should google this.

Kainon's teenage friends are over all the time and I love it. They play bball with Jason and ask us for dating advice. I make them do chores and they sit at the dinner table to "talk about their day." My best friend since junior high pointed out that my mother did the same thing to my friends. Good thing to inherit I think. It makes up for the spider veins she gave me.

I miss Jesus. I liked reading the Bible and I don't think I even have one anymore. The kids have
theirs, but I don't have my own to scribble notes in. I hate that I equate crappy Christians I know with church and I don't go. That and, to be honest, I really like vegging on the weekends with feeling obligated to serve pew time.. Jason and I have been talking about our faith recently. That makes me happy. "Church is wherever two believers are gathered together." Then I guess the Church for the Bless-edly Insane and Chaotic sits on our street corner. Thats a start. Jesus, please come on over for our Friday night grill out, beer and basketball time.
